Getting started
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan includes 500 contacts, 1,000 emails a month, the drag-and-drop builder, the contact CRM, and BYO SMTP/SES — forever, no credit card required.
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. Sign up with just an email address and verify it. You can use the Free plan indefinitely without ever adding payment details.
How long does setup take?
Three minutes if you already have an Amazon SES account. Five if you need to create one. We have a step-by-step guide in the app.
Do I need to install anything?
No, for the managed cloud. If you want to self-host, we provide a single Docker Compose file and a Coolify-native deployment guide.
Pricing & billing
How does pricing work?
Five plans: Free, Starter $19/mo, Growth $49/mo, Business $99/mo, Enterprise $299/mo. Each plan increases your contact limit, email volume, and team seats. Annual billing is 20% off.
Do you charge per email?
No. You connect your own SMTP or Amazon SES account and pay your transport provider directly. SES is about $0.10 per 1,000 emails. We never mark up your email costs.
What is your refund policy?
30-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans, no questions asked. Email support@mailerspark.app within 30 days of your first charge.
Can I switch plans?
Yes, prorated. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period.
Do you offer nonprofit or open source discounts?
Yes. Email support@mailerspark.app with a brief description of your organization and we will get you set up on Growth at no charge.
BYO SMTP / SES
What is BYO SMTP?
Bring Your Own SMTP. You connect the email infrastructure you already pay for — Amazon SES, SendGrid, Postmark, Mailgun, your own SMTP relay. MailerSpark handles the product layer (campaigns, sequences, analytics). You keep your sender reputation.
Which SMTP providers are supported?
Any provider that speaks SMTP. We have tested integrations with Amazon SES, SendGrid, Postmark, Mailgun, Brevo, and several dozen others. If it accepts SMTP, it works.
How much does Amazon SES cost?
About $0.10 per 1,000 emails for the SES sending cost. You pay AWS directly. MailerSpark does not add any markup.
Do I need to set up SES myself?
Yes — but it is a one-time setup in the AWS console. We provide step-by-step instructions, including how to move out of the SES sandbox.
Cold outreach
Which plans include cold outreach?
Cold outreach sequences, Unibox, AI reply classification, and proxy rotation unlock on the Growth plan ($49/mo) and above. Newsletters, automations, and the API are available from Starter.
Can I use my Gmail or 365 inbox?
Yes. Gmail and Microsoft 365 connect via OAuth — no password stored. Custom SMTP/IMAP is also supported for any provider.
What is the Unibox?
A unified reply inbox that pulls every reply from every connected cold outreach inbox into one place. AI classifies each reply as Interested, Not Interested, OOO, Wrong Person, or Auto-Reply.
What is proxy rotation?
Residential or datacenter proxies rotate the originating IP your SMTP server uses. Lower bounce rates, fewer spam flags, and the ability to send from a wide IP pool.
Security & compliance
Is my data encrypted?
Yes. SMTP passwords, OAuth tokens, and API key secrets are encrypted at rest. Transport is TLS. Database connections are encrypted.
Are webhooks signed?
Yes. HMAC-SHA256 with timestamp, replay-resistant. Failed deliveries retry with exponential backoff.
Are you GDPR compliant?
MailerSpark provides the tools you need to be GDPR compliant: suppression lists, double opt-in, physical address on Settings, data export, and account deletion. You, the data controller, decide how to use them.
Can I self-host?
Yes. One Docker Compose file with Postgres + Redis + web + worker. The same code runs in the managed cloud and on your own hardware.
