How it works
Triggers,
steps, enrollments.
An automation is a JSON-defined workflow. Triggers start it (a contact subscribed, was added to a list, etc.). Steps execute it (wait N days, send an email, branch on a condition). Enrollments track who is currently in the workflow and where they are.

Common recipes
Start from a proven pattern
Automations are flexible, but most teams start with one of these.
5 emails over 14 days. Sends a welcome, an overview, a story, an offer, a check-in.
If custom.role = 'founder', send founder emails. Else, send marketing emails.
Inactive 60d → send a 'still want to hear from us?' → suppress if no engagement in 14d.
Order confirmed → receipt → 3-day check-in → 14-day ask-for-review.
